The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training prepares candidates interested in
health care to work as Nurse Assistants and Home Health Aides. The three (3)
week program that includes 80 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of
clinical experience in a long-term care facility teaches participants the skills
needed to provide care to patients in nursing homes, hospitals, medical
facilities or in the home.
Students will learn skills such as vital signs, personal care and helping patients with daily activities. At the conclusion of the program participants will be prepared to test for state certification.
Support Services:
Upon placement into employment, participants are eligible to receive Post-Employment Services to include Clothing Allowances and Gas Allowances issued in the form of financial payments to enhance the participant’s job retention and self-sufficiency.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the CNA training program, you must currently be receiving TAFDC benefits from the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA).
